Man Nabbed With 37 Second-Hand Bales

By Liberty Dube, Manica Post - A 43-YEAR-OLD man was arrested with 37 bales of second-hand clothes after he was involved in a car accident along Vumba Road.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said: "The accused person, Learnmore Chipuru was driving a white Nissan NV350 motor vehicle registration number AGS 4061 along Vumba road due north with no passengers on board. When the accused person reached the intersection of Vumba road and Mutare-Chimanimani Road, his vehicle was hit on the front right side by an unregistered Scania truck, which did not stop. The vehicle of the accused person sustained extensive right frontal damages.

"The Mutare police visited the scene. At scene six informant noted bales of second-hand clothing in the vehicle. After counting, the vehicle had 37 bales of second-hand clothing stacked in it. The accused person and 37 bales of second-hand clothing were taken to Mutare Central police in the station vehicle awaiting seizure by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority." Manica Post
