Devolution on Track: Government Deploys 550 Officials Across Provinces

By Sikhumbuzo Moyo, Sunday News - THE Public Service Commission has dispatched 550 experts trained in various disciplines to the entire country's 10 provinces to ensure that devolution is fully entrenched and practiced.

This was announced by the President's Office Permanent Secretary for Presidential Affairs and Devolution Mr Tafadzwa Muguti, in his opening remarks to the inaugural Rural Industrialisation Indaba that has opened at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC).

Mr Muguti told delegates that comprise the Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith Ncube, a number of cabinet Ministers, business leaders and high-ranking Government officials Zimbabwe was not reconsidering devolution and was adamant that the programme is vital to the prosperity of the country according to Chapter 14 of the country's constitution.

In January this year, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce unveiled the Zimbabwe Industrial Reconstruction and Growth Plan for the 2024-2025 years.

The plan aims to spur the local economy through promotion of the buying of locally produced goods. Sunday News
