Mnangagwa Honoured in Bethlehem

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made history by becoming the first African leader to be included in Africa’s Hall of Faith at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. This recognition, which connects leaders to a site of profound historical significance, aims to show solidarity with the Christian community and to invoke blessings for the leaders and their countries.

The Hall of Faith commemorates influential figures from across Africa, with President Mnangagwa’s inclusion symbolizing the power of faith, unity, and the role of leadership in fostering peace and connection. The recognition also underscores his work as the chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Zimbabwe’s Honorary Consul to Israel, Ronny Levi Musan, presented President Mnangagwa with a plaque bearing his name, marking this historic event. Musan emphasized the strong bond between Africa and Bethlehem, representing both as pivotal centers of global importance—Africa as the cradle of civilization and Bethlehem as the cradle of Christianity.

The ceremony, which took place in Bethlehem, saw the participation of several dignitaries and faith leaders, further highlighting the significance of the moment. The Hall of Faith will house the names of African presidents, church leaders, and global figures, cementing Mnangagwa’s place among influential leaders worldwide.
